The Ruling On Praying With Clothes That Have Images of Animate Beings On Them

Question:

Regarding the ruling on the prayer of one who prays with pictures of animate beings woven (or sewn) or printed on his clothes?

Al-‘Allāmah, Shaykh Muḥammad bin Ṣāliḥ Al-‘Uthaymīn [may Allāh have mercy on him]:

If he is ignorant, then there is nothing on him (of sin), and if he was knowledgeable, then his prayer is valid with sin, according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions, may Allah have mercy on them. Among the scholars are those who say: His prayer is invalidated, because he prayed in a garment that was forbidden to him.
