Is A Person Who Abandons Ṣalāh A Muslim?

Presenter:

It says (i.e. the question) I read this Hadīth from the Prophet (ﷺ) (in which he said):

“The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr”. (1)

He says; does this Hadīth include a Muslim who does not pray, but he is a Muslim that testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship in truth but Allāh and Muḥammad is the messenger of Allāh?

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ b. Fawzān Al-Fawzān - May Allāh Preserve Him Upon Goodness Said:

The one who does not pray, and leaves off the prayer deliberately is not a Muslim until he repents to Allāh, and he preserves the prayers in their (correct) timing and in congregation (for the men). Yes.
