What Is Taqwá? - Shaykh ‘Ubayd Al-Jabirī

Al-‘Allāmah ‘Ubayd ‘ Al-Jābirī - رحمه الله - Said:

At-Taqwá is acting in obedience to Allāh upon a light from Allāh having hope in the mercy of Allāh and leaving off disobedience to Allāh upon a light from Allāh fearing the punishment of Allāh, and it has three levels:

1 - Carrying out the commandments

2 - Leaving off the prohibitions

3 - Being cautious of (or avoiding) the doubtful matters.
